Melatonin’s Clinical Indications for Sleep

Studies suggest melatonin contributes to sleep improvement in three different ways. First, it helps us fall asleep faster. In one 1994 study, researchers dosed subjects, patients suffering from insomnia, with melatonin or a placebo. Compared to the placebo group, the melatonin group slept sooner and longer. Moreover, they felt more alert during the daytime.[141]
